Health Benefits of Sex



Sex. It is one of the more fun parts of the relationship, but did you know that there are actual health benefits to having a good sex life? No really.

Sex is one of those things that is good to you as well as good for you and since we here at SA2F are all about the good life. We figured that this is something you should definitely know about. As with anything we ask that you make sure that you are safe and protect yourself at all times. Have fun and get healthy!

1) Stress Relief- sex causes lower blood pressure and aids in overall stress reduction
2) Sex boots immunity-good sex can lead to better health. Sex once or twice a week has been linked to an increase imunnoglobin A, an antibody that helps prevent you from getting colds and other infections
3) Sex burns calories-Sex is great form of exercise. You can burn 85 calories in one 30-min sex session. May not seem like a whole lot but if you are getting sex often, t can really add up
4) Sex =heart health?- Yes its true, studies have found that men who have sex twice or more a week reduces the risk of a fatal heart attack by nearly half for men, compared to those who had sex less than once a month
5) Sex is a Self esteem booster-according to the Archives of Sexual Behavior , self –esteem was one of the reason people have sex the most
6) Sex increases intimacy-having sex and orgasms releases a hormone called oxytocin, also known as the love hormone. This hormone helps us with bonding and trusting
7) Good sex reduces pain-when the hormone oxytocin increases, so do endorphines. As endorphines increase, pain declines. That’s definitely more fun then popping a pill right?
8) Sex reduces the risk of prostate cancer-frequent ejaculations especially in younger men may reduce the risk of prostate cancer later in life. The Journal of the American Medical Association found that frequent ejaculations, about 21 per month were linked to lower prostate cancer risk in older men
9) Stress strengthens pelvic muscles-Ladies, doing your Kegels during sex has its benefits, it will give you more pleasure in the bedroom and helps to decrease the risk of incontinence later in life.
10) Sex can help you sleep better-that oxytocin hormone also helps you sleep better—no wonder we are so sleepy after sex
